The Finance Committee is tasked with stewardship over the assets of the 45th Legislative District Democrats. The By-Laws State (Article X, Section 11):
“The Finance Committee shall be responsible for drafting budgets in consultation with the Executive Board and assisting the Treasurer in carrying out fiscal and compliance duties. The Finance Committee shall regularly scrutinize reports filed with the Washington Public Disclosure Commission to check for errors.”

The 45th District Annual Budget, for approval by the Membership at the February or March meeting.
Handwritten thank you notes for large donors. Smaller donations are acknowledged with an email.
Keeping current on PDC, FEC, and Gaming Commission regulations, as well as changes in the Terms and Conditions of agreements with vendors such as, but not limited to VoteBuilder (NGPVAN), DreamHost, Toskr, Zoom, 1Password, BECU, and The Events Calendar. Great Legal Minds are welcome here!
Good Administration! Assistance organizing and maintaining both physical and electronic files and records, taking inventory of supplies, banners, shirts, merchandise, and other assets, and the regular scrutiny of reports filed with the WA PDC, mentioned above in the By-Laws. Great Organizing Minds are welcome here!
Leadership! Currently the Finance Chair is also the Treasurer. Our By-Laws require our Treasurer to be a member of the Committee but do not prohibit that individual from serving as Chair. A robust Finance Committee and a long term financial plan can help ensure financial stability and be a force multiplier for keeping the 45th Blue. Great pragmatic and great visionary minds are always welcome here!
Please note that the Finance Committee and the Treasurer work closely with the Data Committee, the Membership Committee, the Events Committee, the Communications Committee, and the Technology Committee to keep the 45th LD Democrats operating smoothly.
