Friends, as you may recall from our last meeting, there is a critical transportation measure on the upcoming April 22nd special election ballot. A coalition of progressive organizations is working together on the Move King County Now campaign to pass Proposition 1. The 45th has also officially endorsed this transportation package. Due to funding shortfalls, King County Metro is facing devastating cuts to bus service — 74 routes would be eliminated and another 100+ would be reduced. These cuts will harm students, seniors, workers, and families across the Eastside who rely on the bus system. Losing these routes will also...

At last night’s monthly general meeting, we held three important endorsement votes. Our members voted unanimously to follow the equally unanimous recommendation of our Endorsements Committee to endorse Matt Isenhower in the race for State Senator from the 45th. With Matt representing us in Olympia, we can take a critical step forward towards getting the state government working again. The Republican Caucus in the Senate continues to block efforts to fully fund basic education, and won’t let needed legislation like paid sick days or the Reproductive Parity Act even come to the floor for a vote. Matt will fight to...
Many of us received our ballots in the mail today for the February 11 special election. At our last meeting, we voted unanimously to endorse ALL school levies and bonds for all school districts in the 45th. Almost one-quarter of school funding in our communities comes from levies and bonds. These votes are critical investments in our kids, our families, and our future. We encourage everyone to vote YES and APPROVE on all school levies and bonds in this election. To lend your support to the YES campaign in the Lake Washington School District, visit the yes campaign’s website. After you’ve mailed...
