Call to the 2022 Caucus!

The 45th LD Democrats’ Caucus is scheduled for Saturday, March 26 at 10AM. The caucus will be virtual this year. Click here to register for the Caucus on Zoom.

The principal business of the caucus is the election of 26 delegates and 13 alternates who will then attend the 2022 WA State Democratic Convention. The convention will be Friday, June 24th – Sunday, June 26th, with the primary meeting on Saturday, June 25, 2022. The state convention will be a hybrid meeting. Elected Delegates have until April 1 to decide if they will attend in person or virtually.

There will be additional 45th LD delegation meetings in preparation for the convention.

All Democrats who live in the 45th LD as of February 26, 2022 are eligible to run for delegate (or alternate) to the State Convention.
All members in good standing of the 45th District Democrats are eligible to vote* for delegates and alternates.

*note: you do not have to be a member to attend or to run for delegate. You only have to be a member to vote.

After the elections. the newly elected delegation will meet as a group to:

  • Decide on amendments (if any) to the proposed Platform and Rules
  • Decide on resolutions (if any) to be submitted
  • Vote on Credentials, Rules, and Platform
  • Elect Committee members from their number

To increase participation opportunities and focus debate, each delegation will be limited in the number of resolutions and amendments that it can submit on its own to:

  • Two resolutions per district
  • One platform or rules amendment per delegate

For example, since our delegation has 26 delegates, we will be able to submit two resolutions and propose 26 platform or rules amendments.
